Lofoten Piano Festival

Lofoten Piano Festival

July 2020

Lofoten Piano Festival took place for the first time in 2014.

The festival’s objective is the same as that of the Chamber Music Festival, but in this case focus is on the piano. Since the beginning the festival’s goal has been to bring a varied programme of classical music – performed by top level international artists - to the whole of Lofoten.

Over the years, the six boroughs of Lofoten, all the churches, centres of culture, various galleries and a variety of other arenas have been venue for the achievement of this objective.

Several of the festival’s younger quartets will be visiting Gallery Lofoten and an unpretentious festival quiz will be hosted there by Wolfgang Plagge. Tickets for the event allow access to all of the gallery’s exhibitions and will be on sale at the door and online, here. her.

The festival quiz will feature Wolfgang Plagge challenging the audience’s knowledge in the fields of music and art, and the exhibitions at Gallery Lofoten will be of help here. Musical examples will be provided for the most part by Wolfgang Plagge and other festival musicians. But fear not, performance anxiety doesn’t come into it. This is just a bit of fun. We will be happy to help form teams, whether you come alone, in pairs or in groups.

Quiz tickets include lunch, which will be served from 12.30 on. The menu includes chef Einar Halstensen’s fish soup, a favourite in Lofoten.
